CD Peacock’s Chicago

A Day in the City and a Lesson in Historical Modernity

Written by Katherine Adams

One of the most notable long standing jewelry conglomerates in the midwest region is Chicago’s own CD Peacock. A top-tier luxury brand carrier since 1837, CD Peacock prides itself in providing exceptional service paired with selective, customer-curated products. Their recent partnership with the Chicago Cubs is advertised throughout the city and credited as a testament to the company’s city-centered prowess.

A large part of the interview session was the examples of ad campaigns, social media highlights, and past CD Peacock endeavors that Vault members were shown. Several of the CD Peacock representatives gave out advice, asked club members to challenge their thought processes, and regaled them with past lesson-learning moments. The room was filled with eager questions and encouraging responses, and of course the warming presence of Chairman Holtzman’s dog, Leilani.

Some of the biggest takeaways from this process included the importance of perseverance, gaining experience, and learning from others. One of the many commonalities between what most of the employees said was how dedication to your work is essential to getting the most out of any interview or even job. “Experience is important too…” cites Lauren Atkins, “and you should get as much as you can,” Olivier Stip goes on to explain how internships and years of hands-on learning are crucial to figuring out your identity in the design realm. Lastly, many of the members underscored how spending time around people with significant ambition and perhaps a varying mindset is crucial to solidifying your workplace identity.

The second section of the trip was the tour of Tiffany’s Chicago location. Welcoming store managers, a historical backdrop, and glittering jewelry were all hallmarks of the experience. Store clerks Dawn and Chris all provided a well-rounded and informative overview of the historical and design-related backdrop of the Tiffany’s brand.

By the end of the night, The Vault was invited to a dinner and meet-and-greet with Adam Woitkowski himself, where members were able to converse and page through CD Peacock’s latest magazine. A large communal hall provided a space for club-wide engagement and deep conversations.

What ultimately makes both the Tiffany’s and CD Peacock flagship stores so influential is not just their overwhelming sense of charm but their tendency to invite inside the most fashion-forward, unique of people. The Vault prides itself in maintaining members that are a strong part of that genre, promoting individuality within the professional world and ingenuity within the design one.

Partnering with CD Peacock and Tiffany’s—with special thanks to the event curator Adam Woitkowski—made for a day of both unforgettable experiences and incredible connections. Outstanding photos and memories mark our club’s finale to a productive and remarkable first semester. The Vault hopes to further their relationship with CD Peacock and continue to widen their connectivity in the future!
