A Kollege Klub Kostume Party Kup Night With The Vault

Written by Hana Razvi & Brett Byers

On Tuesday, October 22,2024 members and their best friends gathered in their scariest and stylish costumes together for a spooky and celebratory cup night, fundraising for the organization’s third year established at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The early Halloween celebration consisted of people adorned in their spooky and stunning costumes. Members of The Vault dressed anywhere from mermaids, witches and fairies to more niche and quirky costumes such as 2014 Tumblr and Lana Del Ray on her wedding day to her alligator enthusiast husband. No matter the costume, showcasing the fashion scene that this organization has cultivated.

Members had so much fun reconnecting and comparing costumes with each other. Every costume was more creative than the next. From left to right, we have web lead Mia Chen dressed as “2014 Tumblr”, finance and networking leads Emma Skinner and as a skeleton and zebra, DEI lead Kabir Chawla as Hip-Hop rapper Lil Yachty, archives lead Brett Byers as Lana Del Ray’s alligator enthusiast husband & member Kasumi Stoll as a pirate.

With senior and events lead Max Bublik behind the DJ booth, people danced their hearts away to the likes of house music legends, such as, Fisher all night. By this point, cups were flowing and everyone made it to the dance floor in a sea of costume galore. The event was filled with so many laughs, funny stories and creative costumes that showcased every member and their friend’s talents. Even the bartenders were impressed with The Vault member’s costumes!

It was a great time for students to unwind post midterm season and let loose. Everyone was so excited for the upcoming Halloween celebrations at the end of the month. This was the best kickoff to welcome Halloween to Madison. The Vault had so much fun putting this event together in collaboration with The Kollege Klub and hopes to make it a spooktacular tradition for years to come.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will in part go to help the funding of the upcoming and widely-anticipated Vault’s fall fashion show, which highlights the macabre and well-known Grimm’s fairy tale characters and stories. This marks the organization’s fourth fashion show since its inception in the Spring of 2023. Following the success of last semester’s Metamorphosis show, which highlighted the beauty of nature’s metamorphosis and the promotion of sustainability within the fashion industry, held at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.

This year’s show will be held in Tripp Commons on December 8 and have two runtimes, one at 6 PM and one at 8 PM. The Vault welcomes everyone to attend. Needless to say, the KK Kostume Party was a night to remember!
